Me, Myself and Cycling….

Most Malaysians always think that they are healthy enough to continue with daily activities and chores, but actually they dont although they look healthy physically. Why? This is because most of them didnt exercise. Why is that so… simple.. most of them will blame weather, some of them will blame work, time constraint, family and few other reasons just to name it.

Exercise is important to keep ur health level optimum thus making ur healthy physically and internally. I was once those type that does not even go out for sports..i dont do sports. i cant even kick a ball for being guy for god sake. but few years back someone inspired me… technically not really insipired..but teased me with those horrible words saying me being supersized fat and stuff…. well… at that moment i put a goal to myself.. i need to change… at first i did it not because i want to get healthy.. not in my mind at all… i did it because i want to be fit and looks good. well i did a great job on shaping myself..physically… but when time goes by..i notice the power of exercising…. i had a very nice good calm sleep at nite… my body feel soooo great waking up in the morning… feel very refresh after each exercise session….. thats the power of exercising

On the early stage of my involvement in exercise activity… i joined my frens back at my campus during maticulation playing football… im not good in it… but i had real fun…. since we all play for fun… never had the chance to score a goal since i cant driblle.. i always play as a defense rather then offense…. but a week before i graduated from matriculation.. im not sure whether its just pure luck or skills… i manage to dribble pass 3 player and score a goal. yeah…to goal keeper manage to touch the ball but the ball reflexes and its a GOAL… ahaks…. he said..it was fast and hard… from that point i notice that i had a powerfull leg… time goes by…. i regularly play football at my hometown with my frens… and im not playing defense anymore…left midfielder ..thats where my position is…

There is always a but in every story… not everyday i can play football with my frens due to the first paragraph reasons… so i tend to look for alternatives… tried few other sports… but im not good at it..until i stumble upon a group of cyclist ..cycling in peloton (group) uphill the genting sempah road… then it triggered my sense….. i got a good leg…why shouldnt i try.. i started cycling activity when i was in my junior year at my University …which is Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), met a number of regular cyclist back then.. bout 6 people … us being in peloton… had fun and from there i learned a lot on cycling activity, the skills, the balancing, the pace and stuff…. i never look back ever since…

Now ..all my frens who used to cycle with me in UTM are all graduated and being ’us’ down to 2 people… cycle around like there is no tomorrow everyday… we try to drag few other people whom we see sometimes cycle around UTM but.. they just dont have the commitment to cycle..or we call it the spirit of Way2Ride…. ’us’ being a regular cyclist in UTM will one day break apart from each other since im graduating soon and im not sure whether there are decent group of cyclist back in KL who loves to ride everyday… thanks to all those people who had directly or indirectly inspired me.

It feel so good to have a hobby, and im pretty sure… those hobby will keep my health on the optimum level…
