update on the Indian protest / demonstration in KL
November 25, 2007 – 12:45 pm | by eMpTycuBe
Malaysian police used tear gas and water cannon on Sunday 25 November 2007 to quell a street protest by more than 5,000 ethnic Indians, the second crack downthis month on a demonstration critical right after the BERSIH protest. Thousands defied official warnings to stay away from a planned rally in central Kuala Lumpur called by a Hindu rights group to draw attention to complaints of government discrimination against the minority ethnic Indian community but by doing this proof nuthing but arrogant by this group and yet splash the bad names to other indians. You guys are saying bout being minority and shit but now blaming the Malays for being the majority while this arrogant son of a bitch group do not know how to respect the cultural harmony existence in Malaysia. Why need to fight the “Hak - Hak orang Melayu” in Malaysia? You guys are fa by imigrants brought in by British long time ago to work here in estates in Malaysia. But because this protest it do reflect the real community you are.. (im not posting bout hatred towards Indian, just posting and stating how stupid the protestant are since i have no gruudge against Indians).
The group had promised to hold a peaceful rally in the capital on Sunday but the government had warned ethnic Indians not to participate, saying it could stoke racial tension. but still being a large group of one race saying this and that, ironically the “peacefull” demonstration turns out to be a critical and aggressive rally.

I dont understand why u guys bringing the JALUR GEMILANG together to the protest whiles the flagg represent the cultural harmony of this country plus embedded together with the flag is the items of “Rukun Negara Malaysia”.
ome shouted “No democracy in Malaysia, no human rights in Malaysia”.Others held placards that read: “We too fought for the independence of this country. Why neglect our rights?”
What the hell, if there is no democracy, how MALAYSIAN managed to stand now in the eyes of the world with the titlle of the fastest developing country with SOOOOO many ethnics yet managed to live harmony at once….. moron…….
Outside the twin towers, police chased protesters down side streets and fired tear gas to disperse the crowds, sending curious tourists scurrying out of hotels to take a look..And please plase dont blame the police for firing tear gas and fired the awesome water cannon towards u guys (haha i always wanted to hold the water cannon and shoot pl down with it). Oh yeah, forgot to mention, do i need to refrain the so called rules in Malaysian says that there is not allowed any public assembly for more thatn 5 people without license being held at public area. SO why dont u thousands of protestors go to your place and do protest there apart from doing it in KLCC, Ampang and Batu caves. Oh yeah…
“We don’t support street demonstrations,” said S. Samy Vellu. “This is an opposition ploy to smear the government’s name.”… Its all Indian says…not me….

First and foremost, you are wrong about Indians. They are fighting for equal treatment. The goverment can continue to help the Malays, but they have to help the Indians too. It cannot be lopsided, else there would be inequality. This is a result of inequality. How could you expect Malaysia to be like Australia, New Zealand, Canada, where there are no unfair treatment in these countries on its citizens. We are not telling that Malay rights should be taken, but we stress that do not discriminate the Indians. The Indians have struggled all by themselves. The Chinese had a headstart in the economy. They control the economy. So the government has to look things in perspective.

..well i do know they fighting for the equal thingy stuff, but cant they do it peacefully, without destruction of property same goes to the bersih rally. bot are for harmony “so to said” reason but due to the attendees of the rally behaving like an animal, detroying public properties and causing major blockade..isnt it troublesome…
Needless to say the freedom of speech here in Malaysia is merely a NAME..but still there is proper way to channel it… if causing trouble and destruction it wont reflect anything but bad names towards the group itself… but i do agree on some of your point mr silentmajority. u are right..
